Want to become the council of the future, Council 4.0?
We are here to enable local government to deliver better services. We understand technology and how it can transform local public services
“We’re passionate about local public services and many of our people are drawn from local government and public sector backgrounds. Working with so many local authorities across the country, we recognise that whilst there are clear differences in local needs and political and organisational circumstances, everybody is on a digital journey to transform their organisation”
Paul Greenhead – Head of Local Government Practice – Methods
In an age of unprecedented cuts to the front line, should councils continue to spend precious funds running their own, ‘special’ versions of common digital services, when instead we could all just stream them more cheaply, and better, like iPlayer?
At Methods, we believe that there’s a huge opportunity for our local authorities to move from existing ‘Blockbuster’ models of service delivery and behave – and save – like Netflix. We believe that this inevitable shift to a real digital service model lies at the heart of tackling all of your challenges.
We work with councils across the full spectrum of transformation, from advising on strategy to working with users to design and build new and improved digital services. We specialise in working with councils to use technology, data and innovation to modernise and transform the way local services are delivered and share the learnings.
We set up the Local Government Practice to bring together our capabilities around a sector we’re passionate about and where there is a huge opportunity to share experience and technology which helps councils to stop reinventing the wheel.
How do we do it?
Our focus is always on ensuring we deliver value for our customers. We work in highly collaborative teams embedded with our customers to share our skills and experience, transferring knowledge to those we work with to ensure change is sustainable and our customers have the skills and confidence to continue the work once our engagement ends. Our deep understanding of the sector means we can move at pace and our work allows us the opportunity to bring our customers together and connect them with each other to share the learning more widely.
Methods knows Local Government
Drive and enthusiasm
"For me one of the biggest benefits in working with Methods is that you introduced us to modern project management ideas, tools and techniques, you are customer focused and were quickly able to flex to meet our needs and have drive and enthusiasm which has rubbed off on the people at Mansfield DC. This has been an unexpected but critical enabler to culture change at the Council."
"Methods have been invaluable to the project. They have helped us to move at a pace we could never have been able to do by ourselves."
"Methods helped us to scope the project (digital services platform implementation) and design an achievable implementation plane. They provided the delivery and technical expertise required to successfully deliver this complex, high profile project to tight timescales."
Partner of choice
"We've got a lot of work to do over the next years and we've not got the capacity or capability to do that on our own. Methods are our partners of choice to help us along that journey and to turn Swindon into an efficient, effective, really great council. "
