Methods has voted for The Trussell Trust as our charity partner of the year. Supporting the third pillar of our social value policy, Methods will be partnering with The Trussell Trust on fundraising, employee engagement, and advocacy work to support the network of food bank centres and aid The Trussell Trust in their campaign for change for people locked in poverty.
We will be deepening our knowledge around the practical services The Trussell Trust provides, and working with the charity to engage our staff to fundraise and advocate on behalf of the cause.
Who are The Trussell Trust?
The Trussell Trust’s vision is for a UK without the need for food banks. They support a nationwide network of food banks and together provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty. In fact, The Trussell Trust support more than 1,200 food bank centres in the UK which provide a minimum of three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food to people who have been referred in crisis, as well as offering support to help people resolve the crises they face.
However, they recognise that ending hunger is about more than food. The charity support and encourage their food banks to provide compassionate, practical support to people in crisis to tackle the root causes that lock people into poverty and build people’s resilience so they are less likely to need a food bank in the future.
