Transforming Scotland’s digital sector
The Scotland Act 2016 devolved control over some aspects of social security to Scottish Ministers. As such, Scottish Ministers have set out a new vision for social security in Scotland, and the principles which underpin that vision. To support this vision and to establish a portfolio of national programmes of digital transformation, the Scottish Government engaged Methods as their digital transformation partner.
Given the scale and priority of the social security programme, one of the first areas of work within the digital transformation programme was a full discovery of the social security work stream within this programme. Methods created a multi-disciplinary team working directly with key stakeholders within the Scottish Government, using agile methodologies to iteratively develop the technology strategy but supported / guided parts of the organisation more familiar with classic (waterfall) approaches via upskilling and knowledge transfer.
