Making data accessible to everyone
In July 2016, the Prime Minister called for an audit of all government data on ethnicity to “identify and publish information showing how outcomes differ for people of different backgrounds [..] to reveal racial disparities and help end the burning injustices many people experience across Britain.”
Methods needed to consolidate data from a wide range of disparate sources and present it as a website that could be easily interrogated and would be accessible and meaningful to users. Working with an agile approach, allowed us to test many different options and iterations, including maps and other more interactive data visualisation tools.
