GRAVITATE
What is GRAVITATE?
GRAVITATE, an acronym for Graduates, Returners, Apprentices, Veterans, Interns, Into tech and Transformation Employment – encapsulates our commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive workforce and culture within Methods.
Launched in 2020, GRAVITATE collaborates with our Recruitment, HR, and Portfolio teams to deliver a seamless end-to-end experience for Early Career colleagues.
Our Recruitment and Learning and Development Teams establish partnerships with various external stakeholders, such as CTP and TechVets, to support the growth and talent development in our programmes. Additionally, Methods holds a Gold Award from the Armed Forces Covenant in recognition of our commitment to working with Veterans.
Our GRAVITATE programmes are tailored to address individual development needs and align each programme with specific career paths, ensuring a smooth integration for our new recruits.
The duration of our GRAVITATE programmes are customised to suit each career path and can vary from 12 weeks and beyond.
Methods Cyber Academy
October marked the commencement of our Methods Cyber Academy, a pivotal component of our GRAVITATE initiative. We proudly welcomed six Cyber Security Consultants into the Methods family, enrolling them in an intensive 12-week in-house development programme.
Aligning with SFIA, our new additions will undergo a rigorous onboarding process. This comprehensive programme will immerse them in the realm of cyber security, covering diverse aspects, from understanding frameworks and their implementation to mastering ISO standards best practices. They will delve into the complexities of different risk types, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies, and even explore risk governance while working towards obtaining relevant certifications, including achieving two industry recognised qualifications in Risk Management.
On completion of the 12-week programme, the Cyber Security Consultants will be integrated into the Cyber & Technical Advisory Portfolio. Supported through:
- mentoring
- job shadowing
- on-the-job training
- the freedom to develop and grow skills and experience in a supportive and collaborative environment
- development, enabling progression to a Senior Cyber Security Consultant.

Hear from of our 2023 ServiceNow Programme cohort
“Onboarding was great - very informative and it was great to meet some of the portfolio leads and talk to them. Next for me is joining CoreAzure as a Service Desk Analyst.”
“The process of onboarding has been very comprehensive (in a good way). I feel like the information and training I’ve been given has covered everything I needed to know about working at Methods, and to help me in my role. I’ve been here less than six months, but I already feel at home working at Methods.”
“The whole process has been smooth. The transition into the workflow was not too cumbersome. There were ample materials, training, and guidance to get started right. Next for me in my career path is to get ITIL 4 and AZ 900 certified.”
"The onboarding process was very enjoyable; the induction was handled in a great manner with a very warm and welcoming feel. My setup of accounts/devices was without issue and prompt. I feel like I received a great overview of Methods and left the induction feeling satisfied with what I had been informed. The training from post-induction to assignment was also without issue and engaging, with various necessary aspects covered pre-assignment. I am on assignment at UKHSA on the 1st Line Desk with aspirations to move up either within the desk or to a more cyber security-focused role."
“I arrived with a lot of experience before starting as a Junior STA but there are so many things to learn in IT. I’ve gained more experience than I had before, and I’m still learning new things to this day. I’ve been back and forth about what I want to do in the future as cyber and infrastructure have always interested me, so I believe my path will be into cyber security. I have officially completed the ITIL4 course.”
