Kevin Cunnington in his keynote set the tone for today’s Digital Leaders Conference. He’s rightly proud of GDS’s achievements.  The UK is the No1 egovt in the world as well as a world leader in open data – who knew?  GDS is the best employer for both race equality and overall diversity.

But with the good stuff over, Kevin didn’t shy away from the challenges ahead.  EU exit is the biggest challenge and GDS is mobilising Discovery and Alpha teams to deliver Gov.UK as the single source of EU Exit truth.

Kevin quoted the following saying, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”  As practitioners of upskilling, knowledge-transfer and mentoring our clients this resonated with Methods delegates.  GDS has saved £450m in 16/17 through streamlining processes.

So, what’s next for GDS? More of the same; that is Transformation, Collaboration and Innovation.

And the ‘how’, see below.

In the future you can engage with Gov.uk through voice recognition – again, who knew?
