Today marks the first day of stress awareness month 2021. Since it’s launch in 1992, its aim is to increase public awareness about both the causes and cures for our modern stress epidemic. With research showing that people are feeling much more stressed since COVID-19, they have made the theme for Stress Awareness Month 2021 ‘Regaining Connectivity, Certainty and Control’.
So for the month of April, we encourage you to join the 30 day challenge! You pick one action each for your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing to carry out every day, as the most crucial thing you can do when you are stressed or anxious is to make sure you are continuing to look after yourself.
With the Mental Health Foundation reporting that 74% of UK adults have felt so stressed at some point over the last year they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope, the Stress Management Society provides a host of guides available from assessments to thought pieces to events to advice, all aiming to take you “from distress to de-stress”. Make time to relax when you need to and learn to say no to requests that are too much for you.
Another tool you may find of use when feeling overwhelmed is the ‘One You‘ service, an online self assessment tool that generates a personalised plan of simple ideas to help improve mental health and wellbeing. In 2019, we worked with Public Health England to design and develop this interactive and modern mobile first web experience, you can read the full customer story here.
So fill in the 30 Day Challenge Calendar to make your commitments a reality.
